Another one of my “no plan” ceramics pieces. To me, these college pieces show how far I had to go, and how far I’ve come.

During this time it’s hard to say I was solidified in wanting to make art for a living. It was more of a distant, seemingly unreachable goal. The way people roll their eyes when you say you’re working/studying to be an artist was always rough. No one really believes you. And to some extent, they weren’t wrong. Other jobs and work came first for practicality, but at no point was the drive gone. After embracing patience, timing, and persistence, I feel as though I can own the artist title proudly. I still get the doubt in people's reactions, but I like seeing their eyes widen as I show proof lol.
